Our body has very complicated

exercises, yoga, walking or massaging. Massage is a very ancient technique
prevalent since thousands of years back, but has become popular in recent years
only.
Massaging is done on the body based on
Ayurvedic principle. Ayurveda believes that any disorder in body is caused due
to imbalances in three toxins or doshas: pitta, vatta and kapha. Ayurveda tries
to bring harmony in these three through applying various techniques during
massaging. In this various oils are used on body and they are chosen according
to the season and depending upon on the internal status of the patient’s body.
Various oils have been suggested best
by ayurveda like sesame oil. But in winters it’s better to use mustard oil. Coconut
oil and sunflower oil are also recommended. For vatta bodies warming oils like
pumpkin, coconut, sandalwood etc should be used while for pitta bodies cooling
oils like mustard, corn, jojoba olive etc are best to use.
Oil massage on body can be done by
oneself or through an expert but it always beneficial to take an expert.
Massaging can be started from head to feet or from feet to head. It does not
make any difference, generally expert do it from head to feet. Firstly oil is
applied on whole body then it is massaged gently so that it can reach to the
inner tissues. Force applied during massaging should be applied on muscles only
and not on the bones. After a proper massage you should wait for 20-30 minutes
and then should take a bath.
The best time for massage is
considered to be early morning and evening. Person should be stress free and in
relaxed stage. Massage should be given on the empty stomach as filled can
effect your digestive systems during strokes. Upward strokes are preferred and
are considered to be more effective. If you also do exercise in the morning
then massaging should be done before exercise as it will loosen your tissues
and make your body flexible.
Massage makes you active and
intelligent. It’s very effective in cases of insomnia, nerves disorders,
laziness, muscle pain etc. It’s a passive exercise where person just relaxes.
With a gentle and smooth massage, body
feels very relaxed. It stimulates internal functioning of the body, releases
tensions from muscles, and makes body flexible. Oils in massage provide
lubrication to the body parts and joints which make them work without any
friction. Oils nourish body and maintain a spark and shine on your skin. This

resistant.
